Kirk Gauthier I don’t know how this album so beautifully walks the line between sludgy noise and industrialized new-wave, but TERMINAL pull it off without breaking a sweat. These songs are like dancing at a party with your childhood nightmares, and the DJ is playing the perfect mix. Wild stuff. Favorite track: R.A.T.S (feat. Pia Isaksen).

tigergir1 Wow, what can I say excellent album.
Hard to pick a fave !
Dark and moody with great soundscapes, tape sounds awesome on my old walkman out and about.
Love it, can't wait to see what you come up with next. Favorite track: Breathing of the Earth.

Der Ohlsen "The Norwegian duo Terminal channels Godflesh through the lens of catchy Gothic / electronic Post Punk tunes and isn't afraid to throw other ingredients from all kinds of unlikely sources into the mix. Especially the chorus of The Path, one of half of the album's songs featuring guest vocalist Pia Isaksen has been one of the most resilient occupants of my ear for months now."

about

TERMINAL is the brainchild of Oslo-based musicians Pål Salvesen and Jake Leyland (Beggar, Francis Root). Melding traditional metal textures with enigmatic samples and unusual instrumentation, TERMINAL weaves the many threads of heavy music into an obscure sonic tapestry. From straight-up Godflesh worship to doomy post-punk, TERMINAL’s exploration of peripheral musical terrain is unimpeded by genres, making their out-of-the-blue debut LP R.A.T.S a shapeshifting aural curiosity entirely their own. Musically speaking, TERMINAL leaves no stone unturned. Inflected with dub-ridden bass lines, expansive industrial percussion, brutal down-tuned riffing and cosmic synthesizers, the music is as reminiscent of that of Dead Can Dance as it is of Amen Ra’s. Guttural screams and spoken monologues are interwoven with the layered and soaring harmonies of guest vocalists Pia Isaksen (SuperLynx, PiaIsa, LovePlanet, Nephila) and Agnete Kirkevaag (Madder Mortem) to dramatic effect, and the dark inner world of TERMINAL’s music is brilliantly brought to life in the uneasy vision of Latvian artist Juliana Soboleva’s cover work.

R.A.T.S. was mixed and mastered by Wayne Adams at Bear Bites Horse Studios, London UK.
